Use your key to turn ON the system
Log-In to the Lectern with your ID log-in and password OR connect your laptop or other device via HDMI cable. In most cases you will need your own adaptors.
On the Crestron screen select the input that you would like displayed by the projector. The Crestron screen will display four choices. Slide your finger along the interface to get access to others.
-
- Lectern PC
- Document Camera (this should be switched ON)
- Lectern HDMI 1 (cable from port on top of the lectern for your laptop or other device)
- Lectern HDMI 2 (HDMI input on the face of the lectern for your laptop or other device)
- Apple TV (some lecterns will have this installed to display your iDevices wirelessly)
- Air Media (some lecterns will have this installed to connect devices wirelessly)
Available devices will display a green dot in the upper right corner. If it is red, the system does not see any signal. Make sure the device is ON and actively working (log-into a laptop).
Your device should now be visible on the main screen.
To select a different device, go to the Crestron screen and select it from the inputs. The transition should only take 1-2 seconds.
DISPLAY MUTE is at the bottom center of the Crestron control screen. This takes the images off the screen in case you want to work on the computer privately. Press to Mute and again to unMute.
When done, log-out of the lectern computer or unplug your device. Make sure to remove any USB Flash Drives!
Use your key to turn off the system
Logging-in/ Passwords
You will need a lectern login to access the computers equipped in our General Assignment classrooms. This login is different than the UCSB SSO.
Please stop by Media Equipment in Kerr Hall 1160 to get set-up with a login. If you need your password to an existing account reset, you may email help@id.ucsb.edu.
Make sure to Log-Out when you are done using the computer!
Click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner of the screen. When the menu pops up you'll see your Log-In name at the top of the list at the far left. Click on that and select Log-Out from the menu.
Forgot your Password: If this occurs, use the intercom phone on the side of the Lectern OR call Media Equipment at 805-893-3549 for assistance during your class. Otherwise please email help@id.ucsb.edu.
Lock Out: You can only make three (3) failed log-in attempts before you are locked out of the system. If this occurs, use the intercom phone on the side of the Lectern OR call Media Equipment at 805-893-3549.
How do I get a key?
Most of our computer lecterns require a key to be operational. You can get a lectern key at Media Equipment on the 1st floor of Kerr Hall: Room 1160.
