You will be uploading the video of your Zoom session to GauchoCast and sharing it with your class through GauchoSpace.
Before Beginning a Zoom Recording:
-Provision your course GauchoCast folder through GauchoSpace.
- Ensure your computer has enough space and processing time for the recording: Considerations for Zoom Recordings
- Inform students that you will be recording the session, and give them the option to mute their audio/video (as required by California law)
Create Your Recording
- Create your Zoom recording by pressing the RECORD button at the bottom of the Zoom window.
- When you are done, press the square Stop Record button, or End the Meeting.
- On both Mac and PC: An activity window will pop up “Converting Meeting Recording."
- Zoom needs to remain open for your recording to finish processing. While your video is processing, do not enter another meeting, quit Zoom, disconnect from the internet, or power down your computer. This may corrupt your file

- Once the file processing is complete, Zoom will open the folder that contains the file(s) generated by recording.
- By default, local recordings will be placed in following directory:
- Windows: C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\Zoom
- Mac: /Users/[Username]/Documents/Zoom
- Linux: home/[Username]/Documents/Zoom

Upload Your Video
Navigate to your GauchoCast course folder at gauchocast.hosted.panopto.com.
- If necessary, login using your GauchoSpace credentials
- At the top of the screen, find and click the green Create button. Select “Upload Media” to upload your recording.
- Use the: "Add files to" drop down to select which GauchoCast folder you would like to upload your recording to
- note: if you upload directly to your provisioned course folder, content will immediately be available to students who have access to your GauchoSpace course page

- Drag the .mp4 file to the grey window on Gaucho Cast or click: “Choose video or audio files” then locate the file saved on your computer and select it.
- A progress bar will display while the video is uploading. The uploaded video will appear in the selected folder when complete.
- Once the MP4 is uploaded, you can rename, edit, or caption the file.
- Remember that My Folder is a private folder. When ready to publish for your students to view you will need to move the file from My Folder to the appropriately provisioned course folder.
