Panopto: Signing into Panopto on your Device
- Download and Install Panopto. Then launch the Panopto application on your computer.
- Next, click on Sign In. On Mac’s, it will be in the top right hand corner. On PC’s, it will be in the center of the page. The server address is: gauchocast.hosted.panopto.com.
- You will be required to sign in through a web browser. From the drop-down menu, select "Canvas". Upon reaching the UCSB Canvas sign on, use your Canvas/UCSBnetID credentials to authenticate.
- Confirm that you’ve signed into your account successfully by checking the top right-hand corner of the Panopto window. Now you can begin recording! Note: on Mac’s, you’ll first have to click on Create a New Recording to get to the actual recording window. Important: check that the audio level is receiving a sufficient level of audio through the source you selected. The level should fall within the green-colored area of the meter, only hitting the yellow or red areas when the microphone is exposed to excessively-loud sounds (e.g. tapping directly on the microphone). Failure to capture audio in the recording will result in a failed session.
