The Campus VPN (virtual private network) can be utilized for accessing resources that require network level authentication. Campus applications like Espresso Financial Applications, GUS, and Certain Library resources among others, will require the use of the VPN for access outside of the UCSB network space (off-campus). Proper utilization of the VPN means users do not need to take the extra step nor security risk of remote desktop applications.

The most common error we see with the VPN is users installing the VPN, but not having it up and running before trying to access network specific resources. Please be sure to read the 'Installation/Usage' instructions completely.
