GauchoSpace was unavailable on Tuesday, February 25 from ~ 11:50 AM to Wednesday at 12:30 AM.
This unplanned outage was a result of a node failure in the storage cluster GauchoSpace uses for storage; due to the distributed nature of this file storage, no data was lost, but it took a very long time for the storage cluster to re-balance the data and heal itself in order to be accessible again. We are evaluating configuration changes and/or adding additional resources to the storage cluster in order to prevent an extended outage in the future.
Instructors may want to change due dates for assignments or quizzes that have been impacted by the outage; to do so you can follow the steps below. For instructions on making individual or group overrides for assignments and quizzes please follow the steps in the link at the bottom of the page. Instructions for changing an assignment or quiz due date/time
1. Turn Editing On
2. Click on Edit and then Edit Settings for the assignment or quiz
3. Under either the Timing (for Quizzes) or Availability (for Assignments) make the necessary date/time changes.
4. After making your desired changes click on Save and return to course at the bottom of the page.
