As part of GauchoSpace's update to Moodle 3.5, a new Timeline Block is now available by default to all users.
The Timeline Block provides an at-a-glance overview of all time-relevant tasks and activities in all of a user's GauchoSpace courses. This allows a user to know right from their GauchoSpace dashboard what assignments or tasks are due.
For instructors, the Timeline Block can also display the "Remind me to grade by" date if one is entered during the activity setup:

The Timeline Block takes information from activities and resources in GauchoSpace courses that have time information associated with them. By default, the Timeline Block appears underneath a user's course list on the GauchoSpace dashboard. Like all blocks, it can be rearranged for a customized view if a user prefers.
The Timeline Block is an excellent way for instructors to help students manage their tasks and activities throughout the quarter. By setting deadlines and expected completion dates, students can immediately know what the expectations are within a course.
What information the Timeline Block will display depends on the type of activities and resources available within a course.
Activities (such as Assignments, Forums, Quizzes and other items that students interact with), the Timeline Block will display either a set due date or deadline (such as in an Assignment or Quiz) or the "Expect completed on" date which is set in an item's Activity Completion settings.
For resources (generally passive items for students, such as files, folders or URLs) the Timeline Block can display the "Expect completed on" date which is set in an item's Activity Completion settings.
The Timeline Block has 5 possible categories that can be displayed, depending on the current date. It will only display categories that are needed.
1) Items whose deadline or expected completion date have passed without the user submitting/completing the item will be displayed first in the "Recently Overdue" section.
2) Items with deadlines or expected completion dates that are today's date are displayed in the "Today" section.
3) Items with deadlines or expected completion dates within the next week are displayed in the "Next 7 Days" section.
4) Items with deadlines or expected completion dates that are within the next month are displayed in the "Next 30 days" section.
5) The final section is for any items whose deadline or expected completion date is beyond 30 days. This section is called "Future."
Once an item has been completed, it will no longer be shown on the Timeline Block. Users can also jump directly into a task from the Timeline Block. If an activity or resource has an opening date that has not yet occurred, it will still be displayed in the appropriate Timeline Block category, even though it's not yet available. The Timeline Block is based on deadlines and completion dates, not start dates. Additionally, if an activity or resource has a deadline or expected completion date, but the item itself is hidden from students, it will not display in the Timeline Block.
It is not possible at this time to set a stand-alone date to be displayed in the Timeline Block. The Timeline Block can only display information related to activities and resources that occur in GauchoSpace (for example, it would not be possible to add an alert for a paper-based in-class exam to the Timeline Block).
