Note: GauchoCast is the recommended platform for incorporating video materials into your GauchoSpace site. More information can be found here. It is not recommended to directly upload your video to GauchoSpace using the text editor's media upload button. Direct upload of videos may produce playback issues for students.
You can embed video files by sharing links to the videos stored in your Box account. You first need to upload the video to Box and copy the embed code. Then, you can embed the video in GauchoSpace.
Upload the video/PowerPoint to Box and copy the embed code:
- Log in to ucsb.box.com with your UCSBNetID and password.
- Create a folder by clicking New, then Folder. Enter a name for the folder, then click Create.
- Enter the newly created folder. To upload a video/PowerPoint from your computer to the new folder, click Upload, then Files. Select your file from the file picker and click Open. Confirm by clicking Upload.
- Click Share next to your file. Use the drop-down menu to change the sharing option from People in your company to People with the link and click Close.
-

Google Slides allows you to make live edits to the presentation without having to delete and re-upload. Google Slides also allows you to insert multimedia into Google Slides that will play directly from the slide once you embed it onto your GauchoSpace course page.
Create a Google Slides presentation and copy the embed code:
- Upload your slides and convert them to Google Slides. Note, you should upload without video as videos will be too large for Google Slides to convert.
- If you do not have multimedia, skip to Step 5. If you have audio/video clips to insert, upload the files into your Google Drive. You will want to have a separate file for each slide you plan on inserting audio or video into. Insert media from your Drive by clicking "Insert" then Video or Audio.
- Select Google Drive (YouTube or URL are options too).
- Click on the file. Then, click Select.
- To get the embed code, click File, then Publish to the Web.
- Click Embed. Modify the slide size or settings as desired. Then, click Publish
- Copy the embed code
