Gradebook categories can be used to house multiple similar assignments such as weekly quizzes. Gradebook categories can be useful in organizing your gradebook to group grade items in order to better mirror the grading scheme outline in a syllabus. Use either the gif or step below to add a category to the gradebook.
1. Log in to GauchoSpace and enter your course site.
2. In the Administration Block click Gradebook setup.
3. Click Add category at the bottom of the page.

4.Provide a category name.

5. Make other changes as desired, such as changes to the aggregation method or overriding the weight.
6. Click Save Changes.

Once you have added your category, you can move existing grade items into it using these steps:
1. Navigate to the Gradebook setup page.
2. Check the box next to the grade item you want to move under the "Select" column. Repeat this for each item you want to move.

3.Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the drop-down menu labeled "Move selected items to." Select your new category from this menu.
