If you or another faculty or staff member is planning on separating or retiring from UCSB, a few precautionary changes should be considered ahead of time.
Once a separation date has been established, you'll want to think about your needs in the future. Typically faculty and staff like to keep in contact with a few colleagues or students after they've left the University.
Please have your respective department CDA contact Connect Support. Please provide them with an appropriate date to terminate your Connect email account. Usually one to two months time after departure should be sufficient.
Please keep in mind that deactivating your Connect account is a manual process and will remain 'indefinitely' activate until you do so.
Setting up your 'Vacation Responder' on the Google Web App is very useful for notifying senders that your current email will be inactive in the near future. Enter the appropriate Date, Subject, and Text. You won't need to include a 'Last Day' as your Connect account will expire when requested.
