As an alternative to the Host On-Demand Java-based TN3270 emulator, users can install the MochaSoft TN3270 client. UCSB provides a company license for the Macintosh which allows the emulator to be used without cost by University of California employees. Please contact isc.security@isc.ucsb.edu for license keys and information.
Please follow the instructions for either Mac OS X or Windows below:

UCSB MochaSoft Client Instructions: Windows 7/8/10
Visit the link and click on the Download button to download and install.

After the download and installation, click on the docked green tn3270 icon.
For PPS, click on ‘File’ > ‘Edit/New Session…’
- Set the ‘Name’ to your preference, such as PPS (Department).
- Under ‘Mainframe IP Address’ enter uccmvsb.ucop.edu
- Change the ‘Port number’ to 992
- Enable ‘SSL/TLS’
- Check ‘Confirm Exit’
- Please DO NOT fill out ‘Auto Login’ per security policy
Click ‘Connect’ and the login screen will appear.
If the font size is too small on the PPS login screen, verify that 24x80 has been
enabled under ‘File’ > ‘Edit/New Session’

For PPS, click on ‘Configure’ > ‘Server’ and set the IP address to uccmvsb.ucop.edu and the Port to 992 with SSL/TLS enabled.
Next, go to ‘Advanced’ under the ‘Configure’ window and check the box for "Confirm Exit".
Click ‘Okay’ or ‘File’ > ‘Connect’ and the login screen will appear.
Note: You may have to change the colors to your preferences under ‘Configure’ > ‘Colors.’ Please be aware that it is possible for all default colors to be black.
If the font size is too small on the PPS login screen, verify that 24x80 has been
selected under ‘Configure’ > ‘Server.’
In order to input a license key, click on ‘Help’ > ‘Insert license key.’ You’ll be able to enter the information given to you by isc.security@isc.ucsb.edu.
