Importing U-Mail into Gmail

Before your U-Mail account is deactivated you can import all of your e-mail into a Gmail account by following these steps:

  1. Sign into your Gmail account.
  2. Click the 'gear' icon and select 'Settings.'
  3. Click on the 'Accounts' tab then click 'Add a POP3 mail account you own.' 
  4. Enter your U-Mail address.
     
  5. Follow the steps and make certain you enter your U-Mail address as your username and change the server setting appropriately. You can decide which other options work best for yourself - applying a label helps with identifying which messages came in via your U-Mail account. Click 'Add Account' when completed.
  6. For the purpose of archiving your U-Mail you do not need the ability to send mail as your U-Mail account. Click 'Finish' when done.
  1. Your U-Mail messages will begin appearing in your Gmail account. Note that it may take several hours, days or even weeks depending upon how much e-mail you have stored in your U-Mail account for this process to complete. It will continue to fetch any new e-mails arriving in your U-Mail account until it is deactivated.
